I was feeling a bit off this morning, somehow – my gut hasn’t been feeling right for a few days, and I don’t think the change to Daylight Savings helped – so I lay abed a bit late, then ended up staying at knitting for only a short time and laying down for a little while before going grocery shopping. What with one thing and another I didn’t get any writing or editing done today at all. On the other hand, I changed and washed the sheets this morning before going to knitting (no trivial task with a king-sized bed), did a mondo grocery trip because I’m about to be carless for a short while, got some paperwork mailed, made chicken broth from the carcass of the chicken I roasted yesterday, and began trying to photograph beadwork and set up an Etsy store.
Come to think of it, I haven’t been posting here regularly enough, so some status updates are in order:
Cats: we’re adopting two young females, still deciding on names. We should be able to bring them home tomorrow or Thursday night.
Car: Ted was given a rental as part of his moving benefits, and will be getting a company car. Unfortunately, the former has to be returned Thursday, and the latter won’t be arriving for another week or two. Luckily, the nearest supermarket is in easy biking distance and there are bike lanes; I just need to buy a helmet before I can bike in the US.
Writing: I’m on my second revision of my third chapter (of 6). I went through it once already, and now have feedback from Ted to work through. Haven’t done much on the kids’science book for a while, and should probably get going on that. We now have a printer here and I have a couple chapters ready to go on the main book, so it’s time to start submitting that one.
Paying job: Updated resume yesterday, submitted one place, and uploaded resume at another. Not in full search mode yet, but starting.
House: Final fixes from the leak are tomorrow – they’re put the flooring and base trim back in and paint over the drywall that was fixed yesterday.
ETA: Oops, wrote the above yesterday, but never hit Publish.
