Reuters has the most noncommittal headline ever: Libby move helps seal Bush’s legacy. I think all sides will agree on that; the only debate left is whether that seal is on a vault of gold or a bag of sewage. (Does Bush have any supporters left, outside Congress? I guess he must, among the neocons, but with liberals, most centrists, and paleo-cons (or whatever you call those people who support small government and individual liberties – actually, these days, the labels have shifted so far that that’s most liberals I know) against him he must be feeling a bit like last year’s popular kid who’s become this year’s pariah. No sympathy here.
What’s the deal with Facebook over the last few weeks? I’ve had an account there for a long time, under my real name, but with no much activity. Then during our trip for a while it seemed like whenever I’d check my email I had a new request to add someone as a connection. These were all real people I actually know, not strangers or spammers trying to connect to random people. The odd thing is that they were peopel I know from a variety of places, on and offline – so it’s not just that one of my discussion groups was talking about who’s on and who’s not. Odd. Maybe it just reached a critical mass? Also, I just found out yesterday that my husband’s on LinkedIn, where I’ve been for ages, when he emailed that a friend of our had changed jobs (which I already knew, because I connect to her there).
Speaking of my husband … no, that should be its own entry.
