a Ziegfeld and Harry day

I’m having a Ziegfeld sort of day. There’s a story that Flo Ziegfeld put his Follies girls in real silk petticoats. They didn’t show when the girls were dancing but, he said, the girls would know the difference. And they’d dance like they were wearing silk petticoats. So a Ziegfeld day is when you wear your good underwear, so that whatever happens you have the confidence that comes from knowing you have your nice undies on. I guess it worked – at least the two meetings today went fairly well.

I’m also having a Harry week. Yesterday I ordered the audio version of Book 7 from Amazon (US). Hopefully the customs duties won’t be horrendous. TOmorrow, we’re going to Amsterdam to see Order of the Phoenix in IMAX – and then, if we’re not gorged silly on popcorn, to the Amsterdam science museum and dinne in town. And of course my schedule for next Saturday consists of just two items:
1. Buy Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
2. Read.

In other good news, there now seem to be a couple of Stitch’n’Bitch groups meeting in my city, according to the newly-updated Stitch’n’Bitch Nederland page. Both meet right near my house and I’ve emailed their contact persons to make sture they’re still going concerns. Yay, other knitters!
