Hm. What I said yesterday about the unlikeliness of a sudden spur in sock-knitting productivity? Apparently all it takes is a day with not much else to do. Aside from a short (10 km) bike ride I mostly just knitted, absorbed HP7, dipped back into the book a bit, watched TV (speaking of unproductive ways to spend time! There’s even less to watch here than in the US) and did a few householdy things. (Which reminds me of one I forgot…)
(OK, laundry started.) I’d just done the heel last night and knew I only had 42 rows plus the bind-off to go, so I was wondering whether it was possible to finish the socks today. The answer is yes, apparently:
Pattern: ‘Vog on from Knitty
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in Bittersweet
Needles: two pair Addi Turbo, size 1
Also, my gamble paid off. See that tail of yarn hanging form the left sock in both pictures? That’s all I had left after using one skein to knit both socks. So now I can make one more pair of anklets in the same colorway, which is actually more purple and less pink than it looks here. It’s also prettier than it looks here: with the purples ranging from a deep dusk color to a lighter violet and the occasional flash of gold, it reminds me of the very beginning of a sunrise.
Next up: some plain socks in navy with occasional flashes of lighter blue for Rudder.
