This was really pretty much not a good day, all through.
First, I went to put on the jeans I bought Sunday, with a crisp white shirt that would have been fabulous against their darkness, only to find out the saleslady forgot to remove the plastic anti-theft doohickey. The shirt looked less fab against lighter jeans, dammit.
Second and worst, I got an email from my mom. My uncle’s tumors have increased; the chemo protocol he’s on isn’t working. There are apparently a couple other treatments they can try, which is a couple more than he was originally told existed. The most surreal part is that, except when reacting to the chemo, he still feels just fine.
Next, I called the bank to find out if they’d gotten my PINcard yet; they transferred me to a couple of people, then promised to check into it and call back. They didn’t … but Rudder texted me to let me know the card had arrived. In %(*^% Taiwan.
Today’s training got delayed a bit because someone was in a meeting, then the second half got postponed because we got kicked out of the room we were in. At least that let me leave early. Went to the bank where I was told that replacement cards *always* get sent to the home address and there’s not way to change that – if they’d ordered it with a new PIN it could have been sent to the bank. To the bank’s credit, at least, the guy helping me offered to see if the bank would pay the international transaction fees I’d entail using my other cards (from the US and Taiwan). I opted to just get cash instead, because it seemed simpler, but was impressed that he thought of it and offered.
Then I went to buy some leave-in conditioner, because the defrizz stuff I’m using isn’t cutting it, and couldn’t find any sans ‘cones.
Then I went to pick up my new glasses and found that there had been some problem and they weren’t ready. Also, when the guy had astounded me by saying the shop was open until 9:30 at night, apparently it was a misunderstanding. They open at 9:30 AM, and close at 6 like everything else here. So they may be ready tomorrow and if so I’ll need to sneak out a little early again.
And with all those errands I didn’t work out today, though at least I got a good erg piece in yesterday.
I should really go make some tea and then go right to bed, so tomorrow will come sooner. It will probably be an improvement.
Sorry about your bad day. I hope tomorrow is better.
