Very odd. I am not in the least sore today – a bit tight, maybe but not sore. To recap: last Friday I did the first (A) workout from The New Rules of Lifting for Women, and it left me horribly sore for days. By Tuesday, I was still hurting a little, but I did the second (B) workout, and it left me slightly sore. Yesterday I did the A workout again, only decreaasing my squat weights slightly (10lbs, not much in a squat) and using a lower step for step-ups. And the soreness is magically all gone.

This is not new for me; the first time I had weight-lifting magically cure soreness was nearly the first time I ever tried weight-lifting; back in high school gym they cycled us through different units from weights to square-dancing, and the weights cured my soreness from gymnastics. But it seems weird to have lifting cure soreness from lifting!

Onto the erg now, and then I should clean out a cabinet which has mysteriously turned everything in it sticky (nothing is leaking, so best we can figure is somehow the varnish melted when we were away and the AC was off, but I could be missing something) before I go do anything fun. And then I can figure out where I can go to buy the greatest percentage of a want-list that includes everything from brown buttons (leather?) to narrow belts, earring backings, iPod earbuds, ballet flats, a makeup mirror, knife sharpener ….. fortunately none of these are immediate or dire needs.
