Michael Jackson. Farrah Fawcett. Ted Kennedy. Larry Gelbart. Patrick Swayze. Mary Travers. I’m sure I missed someone and there are also a host of less famous people who have died in recent months.
My uncle’s chemo keeps him mostly housebound and on the sofa, so he watches a lot of TV. When we visited, he mentioned that it seems like there have been a whole lot of deaths this summer. He’s right – it’s a bad year to be an aging celebrity.
It’s also a bad day to be my right hip joint, apparently. I woke up with it just somehow out of kilter this morning – I managed to do my planned weight-lifting, carefully, without too much trouble, but it hurt when I erged to warm up and it hurts when I walk. Sitting on a chair feels better than sitting on the Swiss ball I usually use instead, but I’ve just switched and don’t know yet if this will make it hurt less when I try walking again. It just feels like the joint is out of place; I looked up the symptoms of sciatica and don’t think it’s that.
It always sucks when you wake up with an injury for no apparent reason.
