just thinking…

I’m trying to figure out my move dates. I have four days off for organizing the move, which I can use either here or there. I may have some vacation time I can use up here, depending how they prorate it. I have plenty of vacation time in the new job, and of course I can just take time off between contracts if I choose.

My new contract starts on April 1, and the move time off (the four days) is part of that contract so probably needs to be *after* that date. I do really nede some time off here to pack and some time off there to settle.

Passover begins this year on the evening of March 29. I wonder if it would be totally unworkable to take a few liminal days to have the Seder with my family?

One Response to just thinking…

Since I’m enchanted by the idea of you basically circling the globe within a week or so (Asia, US, Europe) I’m all for it. But you’re the one who has to coordinate everything and do the air time, so pay no nevermind to your travel envious buddy. 🙂

Though in all seriousness, if you can swing it I think a good dose of home would be a wonderful balm to the soul and counteract some of the loneliness and strangeness of setting up a new foreign home without Ted, even though he’ll catch up with you in a few months. You can hug on your folks (including your new SIL!), eat lots of soft pretzels, and have the heart’s ease of being among the familiar for a bit. The Seder alone would be worth the effort, yes? ~LA
