Ted’s gone, heading up to A’dam to catch the plane back to Taiwan.
I was expecting to see him in only two weeks in the US, but it looks like that trip is being postponed. We’re buying a house* and the closing has been delayed. Stupid banks.
*Don’t get excited**, we’re not coming back to live in it any time soon. We might not live in it until retirement, depending if we can find jobs in the area (not too far from Eugene, OR) or telecommuting ones. But it’s no a lake, great for rowing out of our back door and probably pretty good for investment.
**Or possibly do get excited, if you’re family or close friends and want to take a free relaxing lake house vacation in exchange for letting us know everything is OK there. No guarantees it will have furniture anytime soon, though.
How terrific! Excellent part of the country and the climate’s very well-suited to your interests. Which, of course, was the deciding factor, but while delighted for you I’m a teeny bit bummed you guys won’t be settling on the east coast somewhere. In any case, congratulations. A running headstart on your ‘someday’ house is a smart thing. ~LA
