I have achievements!

I finished the Holiday Challenge yesterday – 2000,000 meters in only 21 days. Yay me! Also, this morning Ted was going in to work late so I took the truck (we have only a one-car garacge, so the truck sits outside it and blocks the other car) and I backed it in to a parking spot on the first try. I’ve done this before by pulling forward into another spot and then backing up, but this is really the first time I’ve achieved it when starting perpendicular to the parking space. (Well, OK: it’s not technically perfect. The back tire is on the line on one side, but the lot is fairly empty so no one else will be inconvenienced, and it’s a duallie, so the rear wheels only barely fit anyway.)

Just before waking up this morning, I had a dream in which I woke up and things kept going wrong. First, the alarm clock had no sound (we use an old iPod Touch as an alarm, so it’s possible for sound to be muted). Second, one of the cats wasn’t grooming herself, and was getting fleas and sores – this is the one who doesn’t like to be handled, so bathing her would have been a difficult chore. And then the sweater I’m knitting Ted had a hole right in front of the stand-up collar (it doesn’t have a stand-up collar really, but otherwise it was the same sweater) and I’d have to tear out and reknit that bit.

I suppose it’s just general worry about all the usual stuff that piles up at holiday time. The sweater worries, alas, are only too real; one sleeve is too tight so I’ll have to rip out and redo half of it, and the body is too short. It’s knit bottom-up, so I’ll need to perform sweater surgery to lengthen it. It might still be done by Christmas or at least New Year’s Day. My other projects for the holiday break, aside from lots of cooking, are to get a better Author Photo taken, write up a sock pattern, and a few things for work including a telecon or two. Oh, and I need to figure out my next rowing goals so I can decide how to train. Also, I should write a blog post on the other blog, because it’s been months.
