I have been stupid and am now slightly less so. A recent software upgrade to the Kindle means that you can now group books into folders, instead of just having one long list. So when I got that upgrade, I went through and sorted my e-books by genre, on the theory that if I’m trying to decide what to read, I may not know which book I want but I might know if I want a mystery, YA fantasy or whatever. Folders are actually more like tags than storage areas, though, in that a book can be associated with more than one.
I just realized this means I can have a TBR (to-be-read) folder without having to mess up my categories otherwise – just put new books in the TBR folder when I upload them and taken them out after reading. Because I also tend to know if I want to reread or read something new.
So yay! for a virtual TBR pile!
And now I shall go eat cherries, as a reward and because I can.
