on to the next thing

I expect to finish the current pair of socks tonight, so I will be starting the baby blanket as my travel project on our trip to Amsterdam tonight. (I’m hoping picking up mitered squares won’t be too fiddly to do on a train or in a car. It’s light worsted weight, so at least they won’t be tiny stitches.) That means it’s time to decide on a pattern. I’m using Shelley Kang’s mitered square blanket instructions, but since I have four colors of purchased yarn rather than lots of odds and ends, I think it’s better to do a pattern rather than to randomize. Here are the potential candidates:

I think I like any of the last three best, though II isn’t bad. I need to decide tonight, though. The actual colors are brighter than in this image, but each has flecks of the other colors, so while the results might be a little blinding, I think the colors will harmonize well enough.(Opinions welcome)

I like #3. #5 is my second choice. I’m a stripes kind of girl. ~LA

I like IV and V. I like woven looks anyhow, and I think the colors (flecks) will blend nicely.

I like VI best and I least.
