Nobody likes me everybody hates me think I’ll go eat worms!

The latest unwelcome discovery is that we actually have to get a doctor to sign the forms for our Capability Certificates, that we need to get our driver’s licenses. This is because we each answer yes to one of their health questions, said question being roughly, “Is there any problem with one or both of your eyes that requires you to wear glasses or contact lenses?” Sigh. Any bets on whether we get our licenses before leaving for Taiwan? Apparently we need them though, so the company office here can help us get our Taiwanese ones.

To add to all the unpleasantness yesterday I snuck out of my last meeting a bit early, meaning after it was supposed to end and before it actually did. Time? 8:30 PM. And then I totally forgot to clock out and had to correct that this morning. When I got home, only the second good thing of the day happened: Rudder hugged me and made me peppermint tea. (The first was when one of our company board members bought me lunch.) Still, it’s a sad thing when you work over 12 hours and only two good things happen in a day. (I suppose it depends on your definition of good. I mean, I was still breathing, still in good health aside from the minor cold, in no pain, came home to a husband who loves me and a good place to live in, and got to finish a very pleasant book. For some people that would be a banner day, and I should really just remember that and stop grousing.)

So far the weekend is planned to include some very welcome malingering. The most strenuous thing I actually need to do is grocery shopping, though I will probably try to live some weights if I keep feeling better. Also, there will be knitting, purchase of a very late birthday gift, and uploading photos and descriptions of soe of our recent travels. At least that’s the theory; in practice, we are not very good at relaxing weekends. I think I can force myself into this one, however.

Hope you get your license before the move to Taiwan!

Ah, being able to finish a good book is a good thing.

That hug was probably the BEST thing that happened to you yesterday. Can I send you some {{{virtual hugs}}}?

Actually, in a sick way I’ve been enjoying your grumbles. They remind me things here will settle down. When eventually a lousy day is rain, PMS, and maybe a broken appliance or two. Please carry on with the ‘normal’ (though your life is rather extraordinary), because oddly it feels comforting and safe. ~LA
