I am an idiot. Emma Bull’s new book is called Territory, not Tombstone – I’ve corrected it in my earlier entry, but I suspect I’ve been referring to it by the wrong name all over the place. Sigh. The good news it, rumor has it there’s a sequel, which would fix my complaint about the indefinite ending.
As of last night, the cat had bolted out of his carrier under the sofa, where he remained, apparently too frightened even to find his litterbox (he peed on the floor). They’ve moved the food and water and litterbox closer to where he is and have elected not to disturb him for a while, in hopes he gets over it. When we first brought him home as a kitten, he hid for about three days, so it’s not unprecented behavior.
The sniffles and odd hot feeling are not much better, but no worse, which substantiates my contention that they’re from allergies, not a cold. A warm front did come in right about when this hit, but I also moved to a new office that same day. I think the weather is a more likely cause though, since I don’t feel any better first thing in the morning after a night away from the office. Anyway, I will be sure to take Sudafed with me to take on the plane.
Saturday is going to be interesting; first we drive to the city of Tilburg, not far away, where we have a regatta. Rudder has a 2 KM race in our company’s 8+, then he and I will each race 6500 meters, he in a double and I in a quad. Then we rush home, shower, change, and go to Amsterdam to catch our flight to Taipei. ( expect I’ll sleep (relatively) well on the plane, but I might not be able to walk after the flight.
