I am not going skiing this weekend or getting a cat, even though those both looked like strong possibilities yesterday. I’m not too upset about either one of those. (Skiing: someone at work can’t go on a trip, and I had a very short time to decide. But I just got home and I’m *tired*. Cat: the woman who took ours has split with the guy who talked her into getting a cat, and she can’t handle his meds on her own. We asked our landlord if we could take the cat and he said no. I feel horrible about not being able to help her, but otherwise this isn’t an ideal time for us to have a cat again, much less an 18-year-old one who was always terrified whenever we moved too fast.)
I may actually finish knitting the current pair of socks this weekend – I started them on purpose to be a quick project. I do have a scarf in work, started last summer and abandoned to work on Ted’s sweater but I wasn’t enjoying knitting it – maybe what I should do is bind off what I have done and make that a cowl instead. So now I have to decide what to knit next. The choices are a lightweight sweater for me or else socks for my mother and MIL for Mother’s Day (lace or variegated yarn for mom, colorwork for MIL). Or possibly something for our upcoming nephew and his sister – we’re somewhat estranged from their parents (the SIL’s choice, not ours) but it would be nice to do.
